AW139 Deliveries Continue Strong Run

AgustaWestland has handed over the 500th AW139 to Malaysia’s Weststar Aviation Services. The delivery—which represents the 13th helicopter as part of a 16-ship order—comes about a year after handover of the 400th aircraft in the series. AgustaWestland CEO Bruno Spagnolini gave the keys over to Tan Sri Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim, Weststar’s group managing director, during a ceremony at the Farnborough International Airshow last week. The AW139 fleet has amassed more than 500,000 hours in service since certification in 2003.
