Initial Production AW189 Completes First Flight

AgustaWestland's first production AW189 has conducted its maiden flight at the company's Vergiate plant in Italy. The helicopter is scheduled for delivery to Bristow Helicopters by the end of the year. Bristow is looking to use the AW189 to perform offshore transport missions in the North Sea. 

Two pre-production AW189s are currently being flight tested for the development of offshore and search and rescue configurations and mission kits.
