Garmin med snadder

Garmin to offer stand-alone ADS-B solution for
 business and transport aircraft.
A simple yet comprehensive ADS-B compliance solution for
popular business and transport aircraft has been configured for
installation with all-Garmin equipment. Featuring the Garmin
GTX 3000 Mode S Extended Squitter (ES) transponder, the
GDL 88 dual-link ADS-B datalink, and the Flight Stream wireless
gateway, this package gives operators a cost-effective path
to meet the demands of NextGen airspace – along with the
opportunity to utilize the ADS-B benefits of subscription-free
weather and datalink traffic. By wirelessly streaming this
information onto an iPad® or other compatible mobile device
(via the Garmin Pilot™ app), pilots can access all ADS-B
“In” capabilities, without the need for – and cost of – a
permanent display in the cockpit. Thus, since there’s little or
no panel rework involved, the Garmin installation can be
completed with minimal aircraft downtime and expense.
Garmin is currently working with select Garmin Authorized
Dealers to approve the installation of this solution via
Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for a variety of aircraft,
including: Cessna Citation V, Hawker 800A/XP, Hawker
400A/XPI, Learjet 60, Learjet 35A, and others to come.

low-cost ADS-B solution for business and transport aircraft.

Garmin and Jeppesen to automate RNP
AR validation process.
To help operators take advantage of the safety benefits and
increased airport access afforded by flying Required Navigation
Performance – Authorization Required (RNP AR) approaches,
Garmin and Jeppesen have teamed up to introduce the RNP AR
NavData Service. It’s a database subscription that enables
automation of the many data accuracy self-monitoring checks
required by the FAA for RNP AR flight procedures. This industry-
first solution alleviates the need for operators to perform
extensive manual accuracy checks (over 350 such checks
may be required on a typical procedure), thus greatly
simplifying data validation for RNP AR operations.
