The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)’s annual flagship conference has a long standing tradition, highlighting a different safety topic every year.

Under the banner “New Technologies & New Business Models: Meeting expectations”, the 2016 edition focuses on new technologies, their impact on safety regulation and the pressure for change they exert on industry and regulators, covering all aviation domains, including aircraft manufacturing, aircraft operations and Air Traffic Management.

Confirmed speakers for this year’s conference include Patrick Ky, EASA Executive Director; Captain John Monks, Head of Aviation Safety, British Airways; Werner Lühmann, Manager Regulatory Compliance, Lufthansa; Neil Mantle, Head of Additive Layer Manufacturing Rolls-Royce; and Captain Dirk Polloczek, President European Cockpit Association, among many others.

This year’s edition offers a unique opportunity to hear from key figures from government, business and industry, senior speakers from all areas of aviation including regulators, airlines, manufacturers, ATM and industry associations.

Among the discussion topics will be the future outlook for drones, digital transformation (e.g. 3D printing), big data and new business models such as ‘flight-sharing’ apps.
