Shell Offshore Taps Bristow for SAR, Joins Consortium

Shell Offshore Inc. has awarded Bristow U.S. LLC a contract for medevac, and search and rescue services in the Gulf of Mexico, Bristow said on March 21. As part of the contract, Shell is to join Bristow’s search and rescue consortium, which aims to provide service and lifesaving capability to members while reducing overall associated costs. Bristow plans to fulfill the contract with a Sikorsky S-92 and a Leonardo AW139. The rotorcraft are to operated from its standalone search and rescue facility at the South Lafourche Airport in Galliano, Louisiana.
